Invitation for Prequalification
Date: 19th May, 2026
1. The Tanzania Electric Supply Company Limited has received funds from Agence Française de Développement ("AFD") toward the cost of the Design, Supply, Construction, Installation, Testing and Commissioning of Buildings for the National Grid Control Centre (NGCC), the Main National Distribution Control Centre (MNDCC) and Staff Facilities in Dodoma and Distribution Control Centres (DCCs) located in Arusha, Mbeya and Mwanza under lot 1 and Lot 2, and it intends to apply part of the funds to payments under the contract for:
 Lot 1: EPC Contract for the Design, Supply, Construction, Installation, Testing and Commissioning of Buildings for the National Grid Control Centre (NGCC), the Main National Distribution Control Centre (MNDCC), and Staff Facilities in Dodoma,
 Lot 2: EPC Contract for the Design, Supply, Construction, Installation, Testing and Commissioning of Buildings for Distribution Control Centres (DCCs) in Arusha, Mbeya, and Mwanza
2. The Employer intends to prequalify firms for the above mentioned tasks in Lot 1 and Lot 2.

3. Interested bidders may submit a prequalification application for one (1) lot or all two (2) lots. Each application will be evaluated on a lot-by-lot basis. Bidders applying for multiple lots must meet the technical, financial, and organizational requirements for each of the lot they are applying for, on a cumulative basis.

4. Tendering will be conducted through International Competitive Tendering Procedures specified in the Public Procurement Regulations 149– Government Notice No. 518 of 2024 and is open to all Tenderers as defined in the Regulations unless otherwise stated in the Prequalification Data Sheet (PDS) and also should conform to Financier’ Procurement guidelines.

5. It is expected that invitations for bid will be made in 19th May, 2026.

6. Interested eligible Applicants may obtain further information from and inspect the prequalification documents at the Office of Secretary Tender Board, Tanzania Electric Supply Company Limited (TANESCO), P.O.Box 9024, Dar Es Salaam-Tanzania, Third Floor, Room No. 305. Country: Tanzania from 09:00 EAT to 16:30 EAT. A complete set of the prequalification documents in English Language may be purchased by interested Applicants on the submission of a written application to address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of in USD 100.00 or its equivalent in a freely convertible currency. The method of payment will be for International Applicants, for Local Interested Applicants may buy Prequalification documents at TANESCO premises and pay locally through National Microfinance Bank (NMB) upon receipt of reference number from TANESCO, (Note: Applicants must provide reliable address to avoid any communication difficulties)

Applicant shall transmit a copy of Bank Payment Slip and his e-mail address to the e mails below, (Note: Applicants must make sure that, the payment for application fee covers all Bank charges).
